Uganda,
a famous land of tantalizing attractions. Located in Eastern
Africa, also known as the "horn of Africa", this
country is usually linked to Tanzania and Uganda with which
it formed a loose union at independence. The country is rich
in agricultural produce as a result of plenty of rain due
to the fact that Lake Victoria, Africa largest fresh water
inland sea, takes up most of it area. There are other Rift
Valley lakes that also contribute to this moisture content.
Several national parks have been set up for wildlife conservation
and are popular with tourists.
For
wildlife lovers this is the last "bastion" of the
nearly extinct mountain gorillas. Bwindi National Park, Queen
Elizabeth Game Park, Lake Mburo Park,
Semliki National Park are some of the conservation areas that
attract a steady flow of tourists.Other areas that are much visited are Mount Ruwenzori National Park
for mountain climbing enthusiasts and Mount Elgon National
Park to view the pigmy elephants that lick salt off the walls
of caves, even as you traverse the mountain and crossover
into Kenya.
